This is a very unique Model S P85D. Important unique aspects:
- Recently preplaced HV battery. The HV battery experienced water incursion (known issue) and as replaced with a renewed battery under Tesla warranty one monh before the warranty expired: so you are getting a certified renewed battery as of 2023-08-04
- I upgraded the vehicle to dual-charger so that it could Level 2 charge at home at up to 55mph 80 AMPs on a 100 AMP circuit. Even the highest end 2025 Model S Plaid cannot charge this fast at home on a Level 2! All currently shipping Tesls are limited to 48 AMPs.
- Smart Air Suspension
- Free lifetime Premium Connectivity
- Free lifetime Supercharging
- For Bicycle entusiasts, I installed an eco-HITCH from Torklift Central which allows you to put on a bike carrier. This is far better than the Tesla roof-mount rack, where you have to lift your bikes over the car. The eco-HITCH is a clean install — it bolts onto the frame under the bumper cover and requires no modifications to the car; no holes drilled. It can be removed to return the car to factory specifications.
- I purchased the Tesla Extended Service Agreement that was 4 years or 50,000 miles, but since Tesla had used the vehicle as a demo unit my purchase, the Extended Service Agreement started from my September 2015 purchase, which resulted in many under-warranty repairs.
- I have had local Tesla authorized body shops correct paint damage and door-dings from other cars opening their doors and slamming into my car.
- This very dark color blue, accented by chrome hilights and chrome wheels and door handles is no longer offered by Tesla. Their current “Deep Blue” color is definitely not as dark as this car, and the chrome is gone. This car is elegant. In fact, by coincidence, it is the same color blue and with chrome accents as my prior car, and Audi S4 with a V8.
- This car was used as a Tesla demo for about a year; after that I was the sole owner. I have the full record of (99% under warranty) fixes and upgrades. Many parts were replaced with new versions that are more reliable (door handles are an example).
