This is a great car if you have a commute and put on a lot of miles. Five star highest safety rating, quiet, luxurious, great sound system, with autopilot that takes the stress out of stop-and-go traffic plus instant acceleration for that extra measure of merge safety to get in front instead of wait behind. The built-in radar alarm warns you if you’re about to rear-end someome: it has saved my bacon a few times. Speaking of bacon, the seat heat can be voice controlled with humor (“driver seat heat three bacons”), and yes, all features can be voice controlled for eyes on the road safety. Well cared for 2015 Tesla Model S 85D (all wheel drive) with All Season (M S) tires means no chains required for snow.
Yes, it’s not inexpensive for a used car, but it is in a class of its own for comfort. looks, good range, and style with the industry-leading display and controls and drivability. Unlike the newer Models 3 or Y, this car has a traditional dashboard display right in front of the driver plus a huge navigation / option screen. I think this makes huge difference in drivability and the seat options and telescoping fully adjustable steering wheel makes it easy to find just the right position for comfortable long drives.
Included is FREE supercharging for the life of the car: you can take cross country trips for literally NO COST! If you do like I did and get a tiered elecricity plan for your house, you can charge overnight for $0.06 a KWh which works out to around 50 cents a gallon gas equivalent. Ka-ching!
The battery in excellent condition; Recurrent report avaliable verifying this: https://www.recurrentauto.com/battery-reports/42a73aff-0baf-4512-b57c-442ce0546969
At home I always charged it to 80% max and discharged to no less than 15% which prolongs battery life. The new recommendations are 10%-90%.
If you’ve never owned an all-electric car before, one of the unexpected pleasures is no more maintenance: no oil changes, engine check light, no scheduling time at the garage and alternate transportation. Tesla recommends a checkup every 2 years. Tires and windshield fluid are all you have to check and replace/fill as needed.
Upgrades:
– Interior lighting – replaced OEM trunk, frunk, floor lights with brighter LEDs
– Center big screen on the standard 2015 model S is a bit slow so I upgraded it from MC1 to MC2 and now its as snappy as my 2019 Model S
