For several years this car was the best selling luxury car in America.
This has been an amazing car!
We bought it used, from Tesla, in 2019. At that time it had a range of 273 miles. We’ve put 80,000 miles on it since, supercharging all over America, and the range has only dropped down to 255. Great battery pack. (Search for Tesla odometer leaderboard to see how much farther these cars have gone.)
We added a hitch so we could tow our teardrop camping trailer, and a 12V heavy-duty plug under the front license plate to power the trailer from the traction battery when needed.
We have replaced this car with a new model S to get more range while towing the trailer, and even faster charging. This one tops out at about 110 kW, which is usually plenty fast enough.
It had the small hole in the rear bumper when we got it, and we added a small dent behind the driver side rear wheel and some minor rim scrapes. Otherwise it is in perfect condition and everything works great. Very little maintenance required.
This car originally had the free supercharging but this was transferred to the new Tesla we replaced it with.
It is a pleasure to drive long distances. I’ve driven it solo over 1,000 miles in a day numerous times and have really come to appreciate the breaks for supercharging and the highway autopilot.
