The number of looks, comments, questions, etc. I get in this Rivian is incredible – makes it a really fun car to own!
It was also really fun to beat a Mustang Shelby off the line (by a LOT) the other day with some camping dirt in the tires and 2 bikes on the back!
Thanks to the 60 feet of snow we received this year, I got to test this Rivian in about every condition imaginable. My favorite move was driving through snow drifts to snag the front-row parking in Tahoe! It really is designed so you can leave your house, head into the outdoors, and not really worry about (a) whether you have a flashlight or camping lights (b) whether you remembered your speaker (c) outlets for charging (d) outlets for heating your camping showers (e) good enough tires to drive through repeated blizzards (f) enough heat source to keep everyone cozy while you’re in 8 hours of snowy, shut-down highways.
The added frunk storage plus rear spare tire storage mean you can travel around with an array of safety gear, shovels, towing gear, extra cables, electric air fryers, guitars, golf clubs, a frunk fool of ice and beer, etc.
And I even tested camping inside the car one night, and I’ll tell you that a 6’5″ man and his 7-year-old son can comfortably sleep on a camping queen mattress inflated in the back. Made the camp departure in the morning almost instantaneous! (and I now have some bug screens for the windows and tailgate if that’s of interest – that’s my one lesson learned on getting the open-air feel but without the bugs)
I give nothing but thumbs up, and will repurchase one immediately when the economy figures itself out!
Cheers!
