Full Self-Driving (Supervised) was purchased outright at delivery for $8,000, not subscribed. Per Tesla’s official policy at tesla.com/support/fsd, one-time-purchased FSD transfers to the next private-party owner permanently, with no subscription required.

Tesla ended one-time FSD purchases on February 14, 2026. New buyers can now only subscribe at $99/month, that’s minimum $1,200/year indefinitely (FSD subscription price will probably go up, in my opinion). This is one of the few remaining ways to acquire permanent VIN-tied FSD on a 2023 Model Y.
