At Find My Electric, we’ve long understood the importance of EV adoption—heck, it’s what we founded the company for—accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation doesn’t happen without serving the used market, and making affordable EVs accessible!

That said, there are still barriers to EV adoption that exist outside of cost and accessibility, and one of these barriers is, believe it or not—geography.

For rural drivers, it’s not always about whether an EV can work for them—it’s whether they believe it can. There’s a lingering idea that EVs are only for urban drivers or techies, not folks living on acreage or driving long distances. That mindset alone can be a huge barrier, especially when clear, relatable info that speaks to their lifestyles and unique challenges is often difficult to find.

And that’s where EVmath.org comes in…

What Is EVmath.org?

EVmath.org is a rural-focused, EV awareness campaign that’s apolitical (we love to see it), aimed directly at cutting through all the noise, to help people in rural areas understand the financial case, and massive savings available by going electric.

They’re backed by Portland General Electric, and other regional partners, supporting this initiative to speak to everyday drivers in a way that actually resonates with them—no climate guilt, no politics—just the dollars and cents.

Why This Approach Works (Where Others Fail)

Let’s be real—EV marketing has a habit of being super political, guilting consumers, or generally just talking past the average person, especially those outside of urban areas. Not everyone works in tech, and not everyone cares about some of the super nerdy EV stuff either. Sure, autonomy and self-driving are cool—but they just aren’t on most people’s radar…

But what people do care about, is saving money. So instead of throwing tech specs or ideology at people, EVmath.org focuses on what actually matters: real life cost savings, and how EVs can help with that in rural areas.

Where Find My Electric Fits In

One of the main goals of EVmath.org is to give people in rural Oregon, real options for buying an EV—not just endlessly learning about cars they can’t afford—and that’s where we come in!

As many people know, Find My Electric was built to help make affordable, used EVs accessible to everyone—with no gas cars, no hybrids, and no cluttered results on our site—just EVs.

Whether you’re looking for a used Ford Lightning, a Tesla Model 3, or a new-to-you Chevy Bolt, we make it easy to search nationwide, and filter for exactly what you need. Looking for a used Rivian R1T in Oregon? No problem—it’s a few clicks away!

We’re excited to be listed as a recommended buying resource on EVmath.org’s site—because helping people take action on their interest in EVs is the next step—and we’re here to help make that part easy!

Driving EV Adoption the Right Way

As we’ve mentioned many times—EV adoption doesn’t move forward if the industry only cares about new vehicles (that most people can’t afford)—but it also doesn’t happen the message only resonates with urban drivers and techies…

EV adoption moves forward when everyone sees how an EV can realistically fit into their lives, and save them money!

That’s why we’re happy to support what EVmath.org is doing—it’s a smart, grounded initiative, built on real stories, real data, and real outcomes—and in the process, it’s helping to break down some barriers that still exist in the EV world.
