Find My Electric's Future Leaders for a Sustainable World Scholarship
This scholarship is intrinsically linked with Find My Electric’s mission to foster a greener future by pioneering the largest marketplace for used electric vehicles (EVs), making sustainable transportation not only accessible but also affordable, ultimately contributing to environmental sustainability for generations to come.
Criteria for Eligibility
- The applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.
- The applicant must be majoring in a field that contributes to sustainability, such as environmental science, clean energy, engineering, policy studies, law, applicable STEM fields, etc.
- The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- The applicant should demonstrate dedication to sustainable practices through their involvement in related organizations, initiatives, or projects.
- The applicant must submit proof of transcript (or proof of acceptance) to verify active undergraduate enrollment.
Submission Essay Topic
Applicants are requested to submit an essay, not exceeding 1,000 words, titled: “Shaping a More Sustainable Future: My Contribution and Vision.” This essay should address the following:
- Outline your involvement in initiatives, organizations, or projects dedicated to a more sustainable future.
- Describe any challenges faced during your involvement and how you addressed them.
- Discuss how your involvement has contributed to promoting sustainability and how it aligns with your broader vision for a sustainable future.
- Explain how your chosen field of study and future career plans will further contribute to shaping a sustainable future.
Please note, the essay must not exceed 1,000 words.
Our Process: Evaluation, Disbursement & Key Dates
Selection Process
Applications will be evaluated by a panel consisting of members from Find My Electric’s team and external experts in various sustainability-related fields. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievements, demonstrated commitment to sustainability, and the quality of the submitted essay.
Scholarship Disbursement
The selected scholar will receive a one-time award of $1,000 for covering tuition, books, and other academic expenses. Additionally, the scholarship recipient may be offered an opportunity to participate in an internship or project with Find My Electric to gain practical experience and contribute their innovative ideas.
Deadlines
Applications will be accepted from August 1, 2023, through May 1, 2024. The scholarship recipient will be announced by May 15, 2024.
The Future Leaders for a Sustainable World Scholarship seeks to inspire and support students who are contributing to a sustainable future.
By recognizing their commitment and effort, Find My Electric aims to foster a culture of sustainability that mirrors the integrated, multidimensional approach needed to effectively address today’s environmental challenges.
Scholarship Terms and Conditions
The Find My Electric’s Future Leaders for a Sustainable World Scholarship award must be used for tuition, fees, books, academic supplies, and other equipment directly related to the student’s coursework at their enrolled university. The funds may not be used for any other non-academic purpose.
Recipients must be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution within the United States, and their enrollment status may be subject to verification via the National Student Clearinghouse or other methods prior to the scholarship award. If the student does not meet the enrollment or eligibility requirements at any time prior to the scholarship award, the award may be revoked at the discretion of Find My Electric.
Essays will be reviewed to select a recipient. The selection will be based on the responses to the essay questions. The applicant who best answers the questions, as judged by Find My Electric, will be selected to receive the award. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Upon selection, the recipient will be notified via email and telephone. The recipient’s name, photograph, university, and program of study will be listed on the Find My Electric website and may be publicized across other Find My Electric properties, including social media, blogs, and other media outlets. Previous recipients may also be listed permanently on various Find My Electric properties.
Applicants may withdraw their application by notifying Find My Electric in writing via email prior to April 24, 2024 (7 days prior to the submission deadline). If an applicant chooses to withdraw their application, the email address requesting the withdrawal must match the email address on their original application.
In the event an applicant declines the award or is found ineligible at the time of selection, another applicant will be chosen from the pool based on the initial selection and eligibility criteria.
Find My Electric employees, contractors, and their immediate family members are not eligible to receive the award. Payment of the scholarship award will be disbursed directly to the student.
