Ready to snag one of Ford’s Mustang Mach-Es but wondering what the new and used market is up to? We’ve compiled a helpful roundup of pricing by year and trim level to help you find the best Mustang EV for your budget.

In this article, we’ll go over new and used prices for the Ford Mustang Mach-E in 2023, and where you can go to find them.

Pricing for a New Ford Mustang Mach-E

Orders for the new 2023 Mustang Mach-E lineup opened on August 30th, 2022. MSRP pricing when the order books first opened included a dramatic increase of anywhere from $3,000 up to $8,000 compared to pricing in 2022. However, after Tesla dramatically reduced prices in Q1 of 2023, Ford slashed theirs as well. Most trims of the 2023 Mach-E are now less expensive in 2023 than in 2022.

As of May 18th (2023), all models of the Mustang Mach-E are available for purchase online with a “variable” delivery time. Ford’s increase in manufacturing the Mach-E seems to have paid off; it’s far easier to find a new Mach-E now than it was just six months ago.

Good news for buyers of the new 2023 Mustang Mach-E: while the IRS originally classified the Mach-E as a car instead of an SUV, all trim levels of the Mach-E are now considered SUVs and should qualify for the Federal EV Tax Credit. However, as the IRS has further defined the battery material requirements for eligibility, the Mustang Mach-E is only eligible for half of the credit (currently $3,750).

Let’s take a look at current 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E pricing:

2023 Mustang Mach-E MSRP, Packages, and Options

Ford released information on their pricing for the 2023 Mach-E in the middle of last year, and quite a few numbers had gone up due to “significant material cost increases,” shortages, and so on. However, competition with Tesla and clarifications about the Mach-E’s eligibility for the Federal Clean Vehicle Credit prompted Ford to drop prices in Q1 of 2023 and again in Q2. The prices shown below reflect the price drop enacted at the beginning of May (2023).

Let’s run through each option Ford is offering on the 2023 Mach-E:

2023 Mach-E Select RWD Standard Range

The 2023 RWD Mach-E Select MSRP is $42,995 (a decrease of $900 from 2022).

2023 Mach-E Select eAWD Standard Range

The 2023 AWD Mach-E Select MSRP comes in at $45,995, which is a price decrease of $600 over last year’s model.

2023 Mach-E California Route 1 eAWD Extended Range

The 2023 California Route 1 only comes in an eAWD Extended Range option with an MSRP of $56,995 (an increase of $1,520 over the eAWD version of 2022).

2023 Mach-E Premium RWD Standard Range

The 2023 RWD Mach-E Premium MSRP comes in at $46,995, which is a decrease of $1,800 over the same trim level last year.

2023 Mach-E Premium eAWD Standard Range

The 2023 eAWD Mustang Mach-E Premium MSRP starts at $49,995, an decrease of $1,805 from the 2022 AWD Mach-E Premium.

2023 Mach-E Premium RWD Extended Range

The 2023 eAWD Mustang Mach-E Premium (Extended Range Battery) MSRP starts at $53,995.

2023 Mach-E Premium eAWD Extended Range

The 2023 eAWD Mustang Mach-E Premium (Extended Range Battery) MSRP starts at $56,995.

2023 Mach-E GT Extended Range

The 2023 GT Extended Range MSRP is $59,995, a decrease of $2,000.

2023 Mach-E GT Performance Edition

The 2023 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition Package (Ext Range Battery) is available for $64,995, which is actually a dramatic drop in price from the $75,895 MSRP of the 2022 Mach-E GT Performance Edition Package.

Adding Options and Packages

The new Nite Pony appearance package costs $800. Nite Pony is only available on the Mach-E Premium Extended Range and the GT Performance trims, adding black coloring to the wheels, parts of the fascia, grill, and more.

And let’s not forget the destination and handling fee, which brings up your final price by $1,500 (increased by $400 from 2022).

Used 2023 Mustang Mach-E Prices

Current used prices for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E are finally dropping below MSRP. With used EV market prices dropping across the board, there may be a significant number of Mach-Es available in all three model years (2021, 2022, 2023) that are close to MSRP for that year or are dropping by 10-15% below thanks to influences from Ford’s price changes and the Federal EV Tax Credit.

Let’s review MSRP pricing for the 2022 Mustang Mach-E alongside pre-owned Mach-E pricing:

2021-2022 Mach-E MSRP and Current Used Prices

You can’t find many new 2022 Mustang Mach-Es on the market (see the last section of this article for more details), but the original MSRP is worth knowing for comparison with a used Mach-E.

Remember, the MSRP does not include the original destination fee, taxes, extra options, and so on. Be sure to check out the extra added options on each used Mustang Mach-E you look at to get a better idea of whether or not the asking price is fair.

2022 Mustang Mach-E Select

MSRP: $43,895 for RWD, $46,595 for eAWD

A used 2021-2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select currently sells between $35,000 and 42,000. Most of these EVs have less than 20,000 miles on them (some lower than 5,000).

2022 Mustang Mach-E California Route 1

MSRP: $52,775 for RWD, $55,475 for eAWD

Used 2021-2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 trims currently sell at an average of $50,000 for either the 2021 or 2022 model year. Like the Select, most used California Route 1 Mach-Es are currently listed with fewer than 20,000 miles.

2022 Mustang Mach-E Premium

MSRP: $48,775 for RWD, $51,800 for eAWD

The used market value for the 2022 Mach-E Premium has been hovering around $45,000 on average, and many listed Premium Mach-Es run closer to 20,000-25,000 miles. The Premium was a very popular build choice, so they make up a large percentage of the used market.

2022 Mustang Mach-E GT AWD

MSRP: $61,995

For the used 2022 Mach-E GT, pricing averages around $55,000-60,000, higher or lower depending on whether or not the Performance package is included (prices go all the way up to $70,000 for some ambitious sellers). Many of the Mustang Mach-E GTs are listed with less than 15,000 miles.

Adding Options and Packages

The Extended Range Battery added about $6,000 (increased to $7,000 in 2023) to the price of a new Mach-E, so be sure to check into which battery you are buying while making price comparisons. The bigger battery was fairly popular as range anxiety was and is a big deal for many Ford EV buyers.

The 2022 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition Package was available for $6,000, and it’s included on many used Mach-E GTs. If you are looking at the Mach-E as an alternative sporty ride to the Model 3 Performance, you’ll likely want to make sure that the used Mach-E you are buying includes this package.

The original destination and handling fee for the 2022 Mach-E was $1,100, and it’s a useful number to keep in mind when negotiating with the seller of a used Mach-E.

A Quick Note on the 2021 Mustang Mach-E First Edition

Other than the potential collector’s value that one might add to a first edition, most 2021 First Edition Mach-Es have similar value and features to the Premium, putting a used value at around $55,000. However, each First Edition Mach-E had a selectable trim level to go with it, so the price ranges widely. If you do see a First Edition for sale, it may be best to look at the trim level features and consider it worth just a bit more than the 2021 Mach-E trim it’s most similar to.

How to Find a Ford Mustang Mach-E

If you are looking for a new 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E, check out Ford’s online ordering system to get a good idea of what options and prices are currently available. It’s a good idea to note that the online price is subject to change even if you are ordering online. Eventually, your order will be processed through a Ford dealership near you. Your best bet for getting a much more accurate accounting of the Mach-E’s cost is to talk to your local dealership to figure out your costs (both for the options you want and the services the dealership provides with vehicles purchased through them).

For a new 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, the pickings are slim (or gone completely!). You can still check with local dealerships to see if any still have a Mach-E GT, Select, or Premium still in stock, but the 2023 is more likely to be available.

Don’t want to get caught in the uncertainty of delivery schedules and pricing changes? Buy a used Mach-E! Used Mustang Mach-Es on the market are typically very low mileage and in excellent condition (especially the 2022). While the used market tends to fluctuate on price, current prices for a used Mach-E are around 5-10% less than the original Mach-E MSRP.

With shortages ongoing and materials costs continuing to increase, new prices aren’t going to get much better. A pre-owned Ford Mustang Mach-E at 15% below last year’s new price is the best deal you’re likely to see for a while.

So what’s the best way to find a used Ford Mustang Mach-E? If you want to find a used EV, the best place is on a dedicated EV listing site.

Ford has plenty of ICE cars to wade through if you try your luck on the average car listing site, but a site dedicated to easy, uncluttered used EV listings will keep you from pulling your hair out over a simple search—and there’s no better place than Find My Electric—the Ultimate EV Marketplace. The fastest, simplest way to find your dream Mach-E is to head on over to our used Ford Mustang Mach-E listings.

We’ve set everything up so you can cruise through the listings and find your next ride easily and efficiently. Don’t wait to check it out; these all-electric pony cars sell as quickly as they drive!
